• The UCLA Interdepartmental Clinical Pharmacology Training Program (ICPTP) is a thriving, highly structured mentored clinical scholar program in patient-oriented research that is broad, interdisciplinary and focused on the area of clinical pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. This field bridges molecular medicine and health care and covers all areas of clinical medicine.

  • This program is supported by NIH grants, including a ICPTP grant from the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) and an awarded T32 Clinical Pharmacology Training Program grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). The ICPTP initiative was created by the NIH to foster the development of patient-oriented investigators. The NIGMS award also focuses on the methodology and conduct of basic and clinical research to qualify trainees to investigate the effects and mechanisms of drug actions in humans. Each participant is provided salary support and career development for a minimum of two years.
